Bravo supershow - Hannover March 2005
This trip was almost a total disaster for me.

First of all - a few days before I was due to fly to Germany I decided to print out my flight details and discovered I had forgotten to book my flight. It was a tough decision what to do - because “low cost” airlines are not so low cost 2 or 3 days before you fly, but apart from the Bravo Super Show I was also looking forward to seeing Marina, and staying with her.

Forgetting to book my flight was just the beginning, also as I was so late booking I could only get the late flight home from Hamburg.

I arrived early in Hamburg, and enjoyed a walk around before getting a train to Hannover, where Marina was waiting to meet me. It was great to see her again, then we drove back to her flat.

On Saturday morning we went to the Tui Arena in Hannover at about 10:30, as Christiane told us it was getting crowded - when we got here we met Chris and her friend Marc. Then Chris told us about the “Red Carpet” - apparently it would be possible to go the the red carpet area and watch the artistes arrive - Marina and I were a bit worried - because we wanted a good place in the hall, but I think someone said that we would be allowed back to our queue places after the red carpet thing had ended, so we decided to go. This was a bad decision for me - to start with it was very cold and windy, we were there for hours, and once we were in this area we had to stay
there. It took over 2 hours for the artistes to arrive, Scooter were almost last, Rick and H.P. both said hello, which was great - Jay was at the other side of the crowd. I must say I felt rather stupid standing there for hours while a lot of artistes that either I had not heard of, or was not the slightest interested in, arrived.

By the time the artistes had finished arriving the show had started, and when we finally got into the hall we were right at the back. We only just made it in time - a few minutes after we went in Scooter came on stage.

Scooter started with Suavemente - Das Bo was on stage with them for this - then there was a medley of One and Maria - they were great - but it was over very, very quickly.

I also heard that Scooter got an award - this was great - but don’t ask me about it - the whole thing is just too embarrassing for me to talk about........

After the show Marina drove Chris and Marc to station, Chris said her brother who lives with her was also at the show, but he drove home to Cologne without Chris, leaving Chris to go home on the train. Marina and I went back to Marina's home, where she cooked an excellent meal, and we watched some of her Scooter videos.

On Sunday morning there was a special Easter market in the town where she lives, so we had a walk around this, which was very nice - children were tying ribbons to a special tree. After lunch Marina drove me back to Hannover station to get my train back to Hamburg for my flight home.

I arrived back in Hamburg in the middle of Sunday afternoon - I did not really know how to spend the next 4 or so hours until it was time to get my bus back to the airport on a cold Sunday afternoon, then I remembered I saw a sign for the DOM fair, so in the hope that the fair might be on I got a train to St Paulii. Yes ! The spring fair had started a couple of days earlier!

It was a fine but cold evening, and I really enjoyed walking around the crowed fair - time passed very quickly. I also found a couple of places that sold Eirpunsch, so I was able to have a warming glass of this rather nice drink as well. It was a good way to end the trip.

I had a good flight home - but by the time I got home I was feeling quite ill, and I was ill for a couple of weeks afterwards.

I don’t know if possibly the fact that I was not so well had any influence - but overall I felt very depressed after this trip - there are some things I don’t want to write about - but I felt maybe the price of seeing Scooter was becoming too high for me.

The trip was a bit of a disaster for me from start to finish in some ways. But I can live with this - I had to mess things up at least one, and I think I did it all in this trip - better Bravo than a real concert - life is made to learn from experience .

On the positive side Scooter were great on stage (well the as far as I could tell from so far back ).

The other good thing about the trip was seeing friends again - and it was great to stay with Marina - better than any 5 star hotel - we could listen to Scooter in the dining room, and we watched some old Scooter shows on TV, which Marina translated for me - thanks for your hospitality - hope we meet again soon .
